Wow, I had now idea this was even an option. I also didn’t realize there are so many embryos frozen in cryogenic storage. My mind boggles at that. I am glad there is a solution where these embryos can go to families who choose to give them life.

It is wonderful that she is able to express herself through song and also through the person that she is. It must be so gratifying to know that her life has been blessed by her adoption and that she is happy with her life and to be in your family. She sounds like a remarkable woman! Thank her please for me for her service in our military. Sounds like she grew up military and loved it enough to serve.

Thank you for pointing this out. I wonder if there has been any progress since your post. I am friends with a lesbian couple in Denver, Colorado who have just adopted an older child. They make a wonderful family!

It’s ludicrous that being gay was ever even a factor when approving adoptions. If they did that with African Americans or any other ethnic group, they would be considered racist. I look forward to the day when society has grown up enough to truly understand that we’re all equal, no matter who we choose to love.

We have a friend who is now the mom of a great little boy who was an “extra” embryo left over after fertility treatments. I have no idea what the legal implications were, but I do know that she is thrilled to be his mom, and her friends who donated the embryo to her for implantation are overjoyed that their little one did not get thrown away or used for research.
