I am in tears as I read this. It is truly a beautiful thing to hear about your discovery and the gift that it brought to your daughter and your mother. I imagine it just solidifies Shauna’s connection to your family in a very special way. No one else can say that they share a birthday with a dear member of the family (I’m assuming). My brother shared a birthday with our grandma and it was a very special thing. She was an amazing woman and I know he feels a connection at a deeper level “just” because they share that day. Thanks for sharing

I am a mother to an 18 yr old teenager and honestly I am not familiar with adoption and the feeling of adopting a kid or being adopted. But I know the feeling of being left alone without our own mum at such a young age. In my case, my mum pass away when I was 4 and I remember that very day , it is still fresh in my mind , it is like yesterday. I was then taken cared by my bro and his wife with 5 other kids. I could feel the diff . Not loved. Last to eat, first to do house work at 4 yrs old. I have to clean the house, watch the other kids. It was a nightmare but I managed. You are such an intuitive mom. How wonderful that the solution to this problem became a generational connection. I may have some flowers in honor of Mom Mom.
