This article is very intersting. Does anyone know of any support groups that assist families in delaing with the issues they may face while raising a child of a different color?
Brandi, You didn’t mention if you’re looking for an online or offline group. I’d like to invite you to join our adoption forum for adoptive and waiting parents. We have several members, myself included, who have adopted transracially. 
If you’re looking for offline support, let me know what state you live in and I’ll see what I can find for you.
There’s one online mutual aid self-help group that was started here in New Jersey, but now has an online Yahoo e-mail mutual help group. It’s called G.I.F.T., which stands for “Getting Interracial/cultural Families Together.” It’s for interracial families that include transracial adoptive families, interracial couples, biracial family members, etc. Their website is:

But there are also a variety of adoptive parent support groups and networks for parents who adopt a child from a specific country! If you happen to live in NJ, call our non-profit “NJ Self-Help Group Clearinghouse” from anywhere in NJ at 1-800-367-6274, more easily remembered as 1-800-FOR-M.A.S.H. (Mutual Aid Self-Help) to find any particular no-fee parent or other support group in NJ.
