I would love to comment on “They’re not your real parents!” I was adopted when I was 1, so to many parents it would have been easy to hide the fact that I was adopted. Thankfully my parent chose to embrace the facts and not try to hide them. From the begining I was told that my adopted parents were indeed my parents, and they are...they are the ones who raised me, loved me, cared for me and lived for me- and I knew they would even die for me. Now the best part of all was that no matter who tried to tease or question me about being adopted I was able to answer openly and honestly; A choice was made when I was born, either by my natrual parents or a court, that I would live a better life with another family. One day when I was just 13 months old I found that with a wonderful couple whom I now call my parents. So you see, I was never left behind, given up, or unwanted. Infact I was given a chance, someone looked out for me, and my parents...they chose to share their lives with me. I love telling people my story. I love telling them how my parents worked so hard to find me. I love you Mama and Daddy, thank you for all you have done for me. Danielle
