To Darlene:

Check with the U.S. Embassy in the country where you reside. Many U.S. Embassies and Consulates abroad keep lists of people who can do homestudies for Americans.

Also, many American adoption agencies keep lists of people who do homestudies for expats. Since you will probably need to involve a U.S. agency in doing your adoption, begin calling some to see if they have lists of people who will do a homestudy in Chile.

We are a married American couple living and working in Santiago Chile. We are searching for a social worker with a MSW to do a home study for an adoption from Ethiopia. The social worker must be licensed. Does anyone have any ideas who I can contact?

Hi! We are living and working in Chile and are trying to adopt an infant from Ethiopia. We are having trouble finding a social worker with a MSW and a license that allows a home study out of the States. Does anyone know of a social worker willing to travel to Santiago?
