Kathy, I enjoyed both of those books myself and find that I refer to them often. Another good one is When Love is Not Enough by Nancy Thomas.

I’ve read a lot about RAD in “Adopting the Hurt Child”, and now in “Parenting the Hurt Child”. I believe that much of our success as parents, and in helping the children we adopt, hinges on education…and so it’s important to read and to learn as much as we can. I believe it will make all the difference in being able to help Destiny during her (and our) adjustment when she comes to live with us, and that it will help us be better parents.

I appreciate all of the articles and posts that you share with us here. I always enjoy reading about your personal experiences, and it helps me to gain a lot of insight and guidance on what to expect when our little girl is here.
