Adoption Myths

According to Six Common Adoption Myths Dispelled, we should “become educated about adoption and it will help you be equipped to separate adoption facts from fiction”. They list the six myths as;
1. There are no healthy infants available for adoption in the U.S.
2. It takes years to complete an adoption.
3. Single people can’t adopt.
4. Birth mothers are typically teens.
5. Infants available for adoption in the U.S. are all drug-exposed.
6. Telling a child they are adopted should wait till they can understand what adoption is.
